INVITATION
DISCUSSION CAFÉ ON EMPLOYMENT: THE FLOOR IS YOURS!
With Martin Prévost from ROSEPH
Independent Living – Montreal proposes a unique discussion café on employment offered through the Bridge pre-employability program. Here, we can talk about everything, without embarrassment or limits!
The floor is yours, whether it is to demystify situations on accessing, integrating or retaining employment or training! This discussion café will take the form of a convivial roundtable with a guest, who will offer useful insight on the questions you ask.”
Date and time: Monday, February 4, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Venue: YWCA, 1355 René-Lévesque Boulevard West, Montreal, Quebec H3G 1T3
(Accessible entrance: 1165 Crescent Street)
RSVP: Aurélie Macé – 514-288-1177 – lepont@va-m.org
Participants: IL-M members and, more broadly, people with disabilities who are interested in sharing their experiences, realities and challenges on employment-related themes.
Thanks to his experience, our new guest will give a different perspective on the questions you will ask during this second discussion café*:
– Disability disclosure – What practices are currently in place? What advice is given by the people in charge of placement in businesses? What about the businesses that do not have an employment policy for people with disabilities?
– Are ALL jobs really open to us? – Information and debates will mainly focus on small and medium-sized companies and non-profit organizations.
– How to make good use of programs, services and measures for people with disabilities who are approaching employment?
Guest: Martin Prévost, Coordinator, ROSEPH (Regroupement des organismes spécialisés pour l’emploi des personnes handicapées), ACTION MAIN-D’ŒUVRE, and Professional Rehabilitation Consultant, will share his experience in supporting people who are seeking employment and who want to approach businesses.
Mr. Prévost will be joined by an employer in order to make this discussion café more interactive and concrete. Come with you questions!

*Our first discussion café, which was held on November 19, 2012, with Carole Foisy (CAMO Personnes handicapées) and Jean-Pierre Respaud (Hydro-Québec), focused particularly on disability disclosure when applying for a job, policies on equal access to jobs in businesses, and an introduction to networking.

Do you want to approach employment? This program is for you!
We look forward to seeing you there!
Please do not hesitate to share this invitation with your friends and your network!
