The federated bodies of the Student Federation are working together in collaboration with the FÉUO SFUO, student services, administration, and local organizations to introduce the first annual Students Against Stigma Series. This collaborative event was inspired by students who believe that there is a lack of sufficient resources and conversations present among the various university communities, and through their efforts, created a unified mental health series.
Mental health awareness campaigns often erase issues of intersectionality, and avoid a critical analysis into societal structures that pertain to the rise in mental illness. The goal of this three day campaign is to bring visibility to topics that often go unexplored; as well as to provide funding for local charities and services that will create a positive impact for students on the uottawa campus.
There will be three days of panels, workshops, art and pet therapy, and service promotions, followed by a fundraiser gala on the 29th.
