The Yellow Door Choir continues to celebrate its 30th anniversary this spring with a special “family and friends” concert dedicated to YOU our friends, family, and community. In keeping with these themes, the concert will benefit Mosaik Family Resource Centre, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and enrichment for young families in Montreal’s west end.

The concert title, “Fiddlin’ Around” or “Gigue Printanière,” expresses the playfulness of our music: this concert’s song selection includes a colourful mosaic of traditional Canadian folk songs (J’entends le Moulin, Song for the Mira), familiar Broadway favourites, (Tradition, Singin’ in the Rain), and melodic international numbers (Cuando tú no estás, from South America). Our repertoire reflects the themes of love, community, tradition, and renewal, and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step!

In addition to our full-choir songs, choir members will perform special numbers with friends, family members, and former choir members in small ensembles that showcase the diversity, talent, and love in our community.

All concert proceeds will support the Mosaik Family Resource Center, a community organization whose mission is to improve quality of life for families with young children in NDG, Hampstead, Cote-St-Luc, Snowdon, and Montreal West. Mosaik offers a regular and free program of singing, reading, and playgroups for children, as well as parent-child activities, respite childcare, an infant stimulation program, and a book and toy lending library.
